About the Role
Chestertons Estate Agency is looking for a highly motivated, ambitious and commercially minded individual to join our Mayfair lettings team.
Working within the ultra-prime property market, you will be responsible for building trusted relationships with high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients and applicants, understanding their individual requirements and delivering an exceptional level of service throughout the lettings process.
This is a role for someone who combines commercial instinct with emotional intelligence. You will need the patience and resilience to manage complex negotiations, the confidence to navigate sensitive conversations and the ability to adapt your communication style to different clients and situations.
Adaptable, Curious and Ambitious
The property market is seasonal, competitive and constantly evolving. We are looking for someone who understands that success requires an adaptable approach.
You will be expected to adjust your activity, priorities and strategy according to market conditions, client behaviour and the opportunities available. Rather than relying on a single way of working, you will have the commercial awareness to recognise what is required in different circumstances.
Strong market knowledge is important, but so is intellectual curiosity. We want someone who is genuinely interested in property, actively seeks to deepen their knowledge, learns from colleagues and clients, and continually develops their negotiation, sales and relationship management skills.
Above all, you will be ambitious, proactive and accountable. You will be motivated by achieving results, while understanding that success in the ultra-prime market is built through patience, consistency, discretion and trust.
Key Responsibilities
As a Lettings Negotiator, you will play a pivotal role in connecting landlords with prospective tenants and ensuring a seamless, professional experience for all parties.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Registering applicants and arranging viewings — identify suitable opportunities and connect prospective tenants with properties that meet their requirements.
- Delivering first-class customer service — build strong relationships with landlords and applicants, consistently exceeding expectations.
- Managing the applicant journey — provide personalised attention, understand individual requirements and ensure needs are managed throughout the process.
- Managing the offer process — take ownership from initial offer through to negotiation and successful completion, ensuring communication remains clear and effective at every stage.
- Negotiating commercially — understand client motivations, structure compelling offers and use strong negotiation skills to achieve successful outcomes.
- Developing relationships — build and maintain a strong network of landlords, applicants and industry contacts, creating opportunities for future business.
- Achieving targets — embrace ambitious individual and team targets and consistently strive to exceed them.
- Adapting to the market — respond proactively to changing market conditions and identify where opportunities can be created.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who brings a combination of personality, commercial drive and professionalism.
You will be:
- Approachable and personable — friendly, confident and able to build rapport quickly with clients and colleagues.
- Results-driven — motivated by achieving and exceeding targets, with a genuine desire to succeed.
- Commercially minded — able to recognise opportunities, understand client motivations and negotiate effectively.
- Resilient and persistent — able to remain focused and positive in a fast-paced and sometimes demanding environment.
- Emotionally intelligent — comfortable managing complex or sensitive conversations with discretion and professionalism.
- Adaptable — able to change your approach according to market conditions, client requirements and business priorities.
- Curious and eager to learn — committed to developing your market knowledge, sales ability and negotiation skills.
- A strong team player — willing to contribute positively to office culture while also taking ownership of individual responsibilities.
- Highly organised and detail-oriented — meticulous in your approach, with the ability to manage multiple clients, properties and negotiations simultaneously.
- Ambitious and accountable — take responsibility for your performance and actively look for ways to improve.
